Sanctioned Show Rules

Adopted November 29, 1999
Last updated February 4, 2010

The intent of the show rules and regulations is to provide fair competition to the exhibitors and their animals on a non-
discriminating basis.

Sanctioned Show Rules:
1. Eligibility - Only animals registered in a recognized Association (International Boer Goat Assn., Inc, American Boer
Goat Assn., Canadian Boer Goat Assn., and The USBGA) may be shown in official International Boer Goat Assn., Inc.
Sanctioned shows. Only International Boer Goat Assn., Inc. registered animals may be awarded points. If animal is not
International Boer Goat Assn., Inc. registered, owner has the option to register winning animals within five (5) business
days with International Boer Goat Assn., Inc. and still be eligible to be awarded points. If winning animal is not
International Boer Goat Assn., Inc. registered within allotted time, points will not be awarded.

2. The base date for computing ages for entries shall be March 26, 2011 the date they will be judged.

3. An original certificate of registration or an “official copy”, a copy originating from the International Boer Goat
Association, Inc. office by fax or email, is required for all animals six (6) months or older.

4. An original certificate, official copy, or a faxed or stamped duplicate of application made to IBGA office will work for
any animal under six (6) months of age.

5. An original certificate of registration or official copy may be required for animals of any age if the show so chooses.

6. The documents specified above as the requirements for that age animal to be shown must be presented to the Show
Secretary for verification before the judging begins.

7. Proof of ownership shall be the name on the registration document. Persons showing animals whose registration
certificates have signed transfers that have not been processed by the International Boer Goat Assn., Inc. Office must
show those animals as agent for the owner on International Boer Goat Assn., Inc. records.

8. An exhibitor that is showing an animal with a microchip as permanent identification is required to provide a microchip
reader for verification of animal identity.

Exhibitor/Judge Guidelines:
1. An exhibitor shall not knowingly show an animal that does not meet eligibility requirements.

2. An exhibitor shall not present an animal to be shown under a judge from whom it was purchased or possession taken
within 6 months of the show.

3. An exhibitor shall not present an animal to be shown under a judge who is his/her immediate family, employer,
employee, or co-owner/partner.

4. Any judge being co-owner with another member/owner/exhibitor shall not be allowed to judge that member’s animals
for a period of six (6) months after dissolving ownership. Should this happen, all points awarded by that judge will be
forfeited.

5. The exhibitor shall take caution when entering their animals in a show not to compromise the judge’s integrity.

6. If a complaint is filed with International Boer Goat Association Inc. that an animal has been given growth enhancing
drugs and the complaint is found to have merit all points awarded will be forfeited.

7. No exhibitor will talk with the judge unless they are spoken to first, while in the show ring.

8. Show Secretary responsible for accuracy of show results prior to sending in to International office. (Judge is not
responsible.)
